So this is what it's like on the other side

My scrappy friend and I were having a long conversation the other day and she says to me, "Sam, I can't wait for you to come over to the other side. I have laid the foundation for you!" If you're wondering what "the other side" is, it's the other side of 29, as in 30. YIKES! Yup, today I hit a milestone, but I resolve to take it in stride. It's just another day, right? Funny, I don't feel any different than I did a couple of hours ago when I was just 29. Well, maybe I feel just a wee-bit older ;)

Yesterday, I said I would share some more beautiful handmade birthday cards with all of you. Ready to be amazed at the cuteness that adorns my entry way? Let's go!

First up is an absolutely adorable card from Mary Lou. I love the pink tone-on-tone colors she used, and the sparkle on the flowers gives it that extra touch of whimsey. Thank you, Mary Lou!

I love this card from Misty. She used my absolute favorite color combination - light purple and sage green. This card just makes me smile every time I see it! Thanks, Misty!

Up next is a super fun card from my CKMB buddy, Jill. I love the different colored eyelets she used! I never would have thought to do that, and I think it looks great against the patterned paper. Thanks, Jill!

Last, but certainly not least, is a card from my AMR and blogger friend, Cheeky. The blue and brown color combo is so cool! I love the stamps she used as well. It's just an overall elegant card, and I love it! Thank you, Cheeky!

Since it's an absurd early morning hour, I'll update the blog later on today just in case something wildly fantastic happens. Don't hold your breath, though. I'm way cooler on-line than I am in person! LOL! Have a super Wednesday, and thanks for stopping by!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY my beautiful friend!! The "other side" is wonderful ... believe it or not, better than the side you just came from! It's all in your frame of mind ...and in that jar of miracle cream you slather on every morning and night, LOL! Seriously, my 30s were far better than 20s...40s far better than 30s...and I expect no less from my 50s! Miss you too...I was on AMR quite a bit yesterday, and I'm sorry I didn't see you!

Just wanted to say Happy Birthday. I remember being so excited about turning 30 (I am 33 now). I just knew my family and friends would do something wonderful and it would just be the best bday. I ended up with a headache (probably a migraine) that lasted 3 days. I ended up puking so hard that I puked down the shower curtain. It was awful. Half of my family forgot and the rest just called to say Happy Day. I then decided that I would no longer depend on other people to make my day great. I now plan fun things myself to ensure my day feels special.

You will love your 30s. I truly found myself, well you might not be lost, but you know what I mean. Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday! I used to have friends that said you couldn't trust anyone over 30 and others that claimed you couldn't trust anyone younger than 30. So, I figure that 30 must be the best year...every one trusts you! Seriously, enjoy your year (and the 30s, 40s, 50s, etc.)! May you be blessed with many good things!

Well here goes, better late than never:

"Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday dear Sammmmmmmm,
Happy Birthday to you!"

A little song all the way from Africa. :o) :o) :o)

As always, you make me laugh, Sam!
Happy Birthday! You are right, I don't know you in person, but you are tops here. The 'other' side is probably the same only with different attributes and challenges. I've found that you notice little subtlties about every 5 or so years. But, you just roll with the punches. Every stage can be appreciated in so many ways. Just wait. Don't think you will have a problem, you are a 'Sweetie'!

You have some wonderful friends to make such beautiful cards!!

Just wanted to wish you a happy belated 30th and let you know that I too will be joining you on "the other side" this Saturday :). My dear sweet hubby threw a surprise party for me this past weekend and the cake said, "How's the view from the top?"and had a rocking chair on it--LOL. Whatever! I'm not THAT old! Sheesh! He's 6 years older than me! He just wanted to rub it in since I hate the thought of losing my 20's. Oh well--nothing I can do about it, right? Anyway, hope you had a fabulous day! Congrats on your 5th anniversary as well!!
