This afternoon, I made a new friend. I would like to introduce all of you to Charlie, our yard squirrel. He lives in our large blue spruce pine tree in the front yard, and he often runs around the property hiding his finds and barking at Sedona. Normally, he's too busy to give us the time of day, but today as Travis was leaving for work after lunch, we noticed Charlie peering up at us through the open door. I went to go grab some peanuts for him, and when I went outside, he hopped on the porch rail and eagerly awaited his treats. We have never fed Charlie before, so this was unusual. He was so happy to get some nuts! I must have been out there for a good ten minutes just watching him munch on his little peanuts. It was the perfect opportunity to take some pictures.
Is he cute or what?? I'm quite sure he would have taken the food from my hands, but I didn't want to risk him accidentally biting me. Maybe I'll stock up on some non-shelled peanuts so that I can give them to him by hand.
My AMR monthly kit didn't arrive today, but my 500 live crickets did! Weasley is now a happy, fat lizard. I guess that just means I will have a super mail day tomorrow! Plus, I have a crop to go to in the evening time, so I'm going to have a really great day! I hope my mojo finds me. We've been separated for a while.

Charlie is just too cute! Aren't they fun?? You will be able to hand feed them. But, I agree, use the peanuts in the shells to be safe. But, beware, he will bring friends and will jump at your doors and windows if you get them used to being fed. It's so funny!

Charlie is absolutely adorable. NK on this...I live out in the footihills of the Tahoe National Forest. My scrap room window looks out on beautiful trees, and all natural setting. We have all kinds of squirrels, deer, turkey, quail, birds that walk and fly by my window. I have one squirrel in particular that loves to run across this group of rocks outside my window, pause, look into the window and stare at me while I am scrapping. On nice days I open the window and talk to him...he just sits there looking at me...It is so funny.
Charlie is sweet.. My Gpa lived in Ohio, they had alot of trees and a creek ran behind/below their property...They had several squirrels that they fed on a regular basis... I was around 13 and thought it was so cool to see all the squirrels come up to the back door..I'm almost 50 and feel the same way... Unfortunately, not squirrels around here.....

Today our bunny passed away. Rob just buried him in our backyard and we plan to plant flowers over his grave.

I am so glad to hear that you're feeling better Sam! I am stuck with a head cold now too, and the last few days I had no energy at all. Can't rest though, with two kids running around it's impossible. I love the pictures of Charlie! He is adorable and you did get some awesome pics! We took care of a baby squirrel not too long ago. Great animals! :)

well, squrrels are common here too, but I can't say I've ever named one! What type of camera do you use? Your pics are very good!
