Sedona is but a mere pup in this photo, but she's beautifully illustrating the goober pose. She was only two months old (yup, that's the size of a two month old Dane) at the time, and she was already goobering!
Anyway, she assumed the goober position because she loves to get her armpits rubbed. Strange as it may sound, the girl is all about her armpits. So, as I lean down to give them a good rub, she reaches for me with her front paw, and in one fell-swoop, she scratches my face, right below my left eye. It felt like sand paper rubbing across my skin. I naturally poped up to see how bad the damage was, and my eye was already swelling. I washed it off and put an ice-pack on. It's been several hours since this happened, and I'm happy to report that the only thing visible on my face is three scratches right under my eye. At least she didn't actually take out my eyeball, right?!
Life with a 180-lb Great Dane can be hazardous at times, but it's always fun!

oh my....lol. my boxer mix loves to get his belly rubbed, and assumes that very same position...too cute. Of course, he assumes that position across my lap...
Good thing you still have an eye, you need that for scrapping!
My dog loves to assume this posisition under the fan and take up all of the room on the bed at the same time. Glad that your eye is okay!
